Florida Society of Goldsmiths- Changing name

Hello FSG Members past and present!

FSG has a new website name that better reflects that we are an art guild open to all artist working in all metals:   www.FSGmetal.org.  The decision in the past to keep the website name short and easy to remember had us ending in a dot com, as was popular over 14 years ago.

Our changes such as the PayPal feature for class registration and membership dues (join here: http://www.fsgmetal.org/join-today.html ) have been very popular and proven that a majority of our members prefer the convenience and ease of the internet.

Now we are reaching out to you for suggestions on future goals and for support to make them happen!

Goal #1: We are hosting a jewelry/metals show at the Morean Arts Center in St. Petersburg, Nov. 2016.  The Morean Arts Center is home of the one-of-a-kind permanent Chihuly Collection which will be in the brand new museum across the street from the gallery hosting the jewelry/metals show.  The theme of “Story Telling in Metal” should encourage every style of work and allow the artist to share their story of inspiration.  Applications will be available soon, so start planning now.

Goal #2: We are also planning a conference for all FSG members to coincide with opening night gala and awards ceremony for the Story Telling in Metal Show.  The committee is working on the details, but we have secured the Morean Art Studios for lectures, demonstrations, vendor room, and workshops.

In an effort to keep the price of admission low we are looking for donations to the auction, assistance, both with setup beforehand and/or help that weekend.  Sponsorships are available too! If you are interested in doing a free demonstration between lectures, please contact me at FSGmetal@gmail.com with a proposal.  This would be a perfect time to show case a workshop or product you offer.

Please consider making a donation to help us reach our goals!  As little as $10 can have a large impact when we all join together!
