Enamelist Conference

  • I've just gotten back online since the Enamelist Conference. I too, want to thank Trish and Averill for all the hard work that goes into an event like that. The torch firing workshop with Steve Artz was amazing--he was extremely free with tips and innovative tools----what a great time!

I also wanted to pass on some prodding advice I got from Judy Stone. One of the problems we all face with enameling is the public's lack of understanding about the process and why enameled pieces cost so much. Judy correctly urges us all to "get our work out there."  Enter every show you can---if your work doesn't fit into any listed category---use "other."  Cheap chinese imitation cloisonne is deceiving the public into undervaluing real enamel work. So it's important we all "get it out there!"
