I’m using Flower White from enamelworks (Coral Shaffer). First layers are transparent, then translucent. Eventually it’s near opaque but has a depth you can’t get with usual whites. It’s an amazing color. I’ve used embossed foil under it and then just a couple of layers then transparent, so the foil is ‘almost’ visible. Send me pix of your pieces when done.
Trish WhiteWhat do you mean embossed foil under it and then just a couple layers then transparent? Is the last transparent a flux? I am certainly going to order a.s.a.p - I etched my skull faces and then had them cast - I used a white opalescent but did not do well... moreWhat do you mean embossed foil under it and then just a couple layers then transparent? Is the last transparent a flux? I am certainly going to order a.s.a.p - I etched my skull faces and then had them cast - I used a white opalescent but did not do well on the first go round - so the next one I used a yellow transparent which was awesome - and have been pondering what to do about using a white- now I know - thanks so much!

I’ve used it over plain, etched or foil. The first layers of FW look transparent. 3-6 layers look translucent and after that it’s almost opaque. If you like the translucent look, use flux in the remaining layers

I tried the Flower White on my skull - but did not get the opalescent white that you seemed to have achieved - I only have room for 2-3 layers on my etched metal - I barely got a white color - it goes very transparent- darn!
