these are one of my brooch series "cellstructures".

I used plique a jour technic for the enameled  motiv. First I bend a lot of wire with a tiny pair of tweezers to form every single cell. Next I soldered them together. At two sides I added broad strips of silver wire to connect both parts of the brooch together.

In this wirenetting I applied the wet enamel. I usually use a backing for doing plique a jour. In several stepps I filled the enamel at level of the wires.

After finishing all enamel work, I made a setting for the mirror and a double pin and catch at the back. Finelly I connected the pieces with tube- rivets together.

For this series of brooches I was inspiried by photos of the inside of plants I found in my old biology book from school. For transposing in jewelry, I abstracted the motivs. I used pale and dull colors as well as plique a jour to show fragility of plants.
