Basically silver foil is laid over gold foil on an enamelled surface and fired for an extended period of time, creating interesting textures and colours of metal.
The technique was developed by Bill Helwig who wrote an article in an earlier issue.
I have used stencils for the base layers, then reticulated gold and silver foils. The red lines are sifted through a Riso screen I have made from my line drawing with a Riso pen.

In the other pieces the calligraphy is all cut as a stencil from drafting film. These were all made several years ago after an overwhelming visit to India!
