So many ancient cultures had similar marks in their rock art, and the dots used be the Australian aborigines were probably influenced by pointillism, painting on canvas was taught them by white people, using acrylic paints, synthetic colours etc.

Hi Chris, Not specifically inspired by aboriginal art. I've been using symbols for years, rivers, snakes, spirals, triangles, similar shapes. I was interested in Jungian symbolism and dreams and many of these symbols have personal meanings for me.

Hi Chris, Not specifically inspired by aboriginal art. I've been using symbols for years, rivers, snakes, spirals, triangles, similar shapes. I was interested in Jungian symbolism and dreams and many of these symbols have personal meanings for me.

A lot of my pieces evolve and then later tell me what they mean!!! This is one of them, had many many firings until  it started to say something. Arrows mean journeys and direction, straight lines are the man made marks on the landscape. Jenny.
