The next step was... moreThe first step for this piece was to create a background on a 12in copper tile. I used a stencil to create the underlying design then fired lead free, and then lead bearing over the whole piece which brings up the colour in the oxide. The next step was to form the copper shim which I cut with oxy to give the ragged edges. I put liquid enamel on the back to eliminate a firing then bent the shim over the edges of the tile to give the necessary support. Again I applied a layer of transparent and finally a layer of lead free over the textured area. less
Amazing, but i didnt understand what "cut with oxy" means?
