Old ones still good for effects but not enough for other techniques ...Maybe you should buy new one and then try again. You will get perfect matte surface with sandblasting. Good luck! I used sandblast for this one but i tried Armour Etch that you can get from Thompson Enamel Company, is very well too. Works for me
