Thanks This is all copper, both the base and the wire. I cut the octopus out with a jewlers saw. The enamel is all old Thompson transparent leaded enamels. I put down flux first, then the wires, another layer of flux, then wet-packed the colors on
Thanks This is all copper, both the base and the wire. I cut the octopus out with a jewlers saw. The enamel is all old Thompson transparent leaded enamels. I put down flux first, then the wires, another layer of flux, then wet-packed the colors on his body all at once so I could blend them a bit. Last I put a little bit of red in the suckers. He slipped on that last firing so he was hanging head down but I kind of liked the spots that created on his forehead so I left him as is. Someday I'll break out my fancy camera and get a better picture. He's about somewhere between 4" and 5" from end to end.
