'Tom Fleck' is here and has kept my kiln cold these last few days.
I regret that the enamel, 'River Valley' did not work out as the cover for the historical novel. It was a bit too 'busy' for the title to read clearly - I used one of my acrylic paintings

Here are the details of this week so far:
My novel has landed from the publisher. A van delivered 100 copies of ‘Tom Fleck’ and they are sitting here in boxes. It then popped up on Amazon uk without any blurb, so I’m now trying to stitch together an author page, blurb and product description with a cover page (how did I get involved in all this?). On the web, I see a link to 'Tom Fleck' coming from a distributor in Zagreb (Croatia!). Late yesterday it had appeared on Amazon usa.
The Robin Hood’s Bay painting group went home after this morning’s class clutching the first copies – I’ve a tiny tinge of anxiety – what will folk make of it?
Meanwhile, here is the blurb:
‘Sharp as quivering hares are the Flecks. We've eyes and ears for things other folk miss.'
Much later, in the aftermath of Flodden, a young man finally understands his father’s words.
The year: 1513. The place: North-East England.
Tom Fleck, a downtrodden farm worker but gifted archer, yearns to escape his masters. He unearths two objects that could be keys to freedom: a torque of ancient gold and a Tudor seal ring. He cannot know how these finds will determine his future.
Rachel Coronel craves an end to her Jewish wanderings. When the torque comes to rest around the neck of this mysterious girl, an odyssey begins which draws Tom Fleck into borderlands of belief and race.
The seal ring propels Tom on a journey of self-knowledge that can only climax in another borderland, among the ‘flowers of the forest’ on Flodden Field. less

Thanks, Trish. I'll let you know when 'Tom Fleck' is on Amazon - a few weeks yet. I keep finding things to improve. Soon, I'll have to let it go.
