I cannot say there is any debate or controversy about torching where I am, as I seem to be the only practitioner. It was when I discovered GoG a few years ago, that I noticed others (like yourself) were torching. I hand hold my pieces whilst firing, which permits close observation and variations of angle. You could call it a 'freestyle' or 'bareback' technique - on the edge of disaster, like, heh.

Thanks Trish- this ring is the last word on a theme, for me. It probably draws a line under ideas that have occupied me for years.
