Mary Raymond, Australian enameller.

Mary will be missed as one of the few panellists in this country. Her work was alive with glowing colours, always beautifully finished, and celebrated the Australian landscape which she loved to photograph. She made hundreds of exquisite bowls in a range of sizes as well as large wall panels, many for corporate buildings. She was a great organiser, and worked hard to support enamel exhibitions and activities.

She was instrumental in organising many workshops for the NSW enamellers in her own well set-up workshop. I was fortunate to be among the tutors to be hosted many times in her home while teaching.

The end of an era in Sydney.
