firing on a gas stove

    Hello Francoise,

    I was a boy scout too! More than 60 years ago!! 

    It is the same procedure as torch firing. Put your work piece onto a firing rack and put both together over the open flame of the gas stove. But is only a makeshift. Better is a torch, and still better a kiln.

    I'm  63, 50 years ago I started enameling when I was  a  scout .( you know those Baden Powell kids) I remember we fired on a kitchen  gas stove. we put the  piece on a mesh and put it on the gas it worked fine. I'm on a french forum for  metal clay .  One person has a  little kiln that is  not   adapted for firing enammel and doesn't want to torchfire. 

    So I'm looking for somebidy who experienced stove firing because in 50 years I've forgotten about it
