I'm reading that a glass kiln with an overhead heating element works better for casting and slumping glass. I'm hoping to get a kiln that will cover both enameling and casting glass. Has anyone ever enameled with a clamshell kiln? Does it work well or does it lose a ton of heat when opening and closing? Having worked with a Paragon Sc4 with an infinite control for years, I'm hoping to move to a digital controller that will fire both as well.
Thanks,
Karen
