For me the best is Ninomiya enamels, not just red all of them are excellent. You need good layer of flux beneath the red, then find the right temperature/time.Alchemy:)

I've had the best luck with LT21 (Dark Red), N5 (Light Red) and N7 (Med Red). I put a layer of gold leaf down first, and then it's just a matter of not over-firing. (Over-firing will get you that brown haze where it's touching the silver wire)...
The N5/N7 are a touch more brown, but they all play well together.
Thank you very much.
Thank you!
I was taught to apply your reds last - they do have a tendency to burn out during a lot of firings including opaque reds and oranges.

try G-110 FOR BASE COATE AND THEN TRY DIFFERENT SHADES LIKE UR CHOICE...
I've had trouble with red enamels turning dark of brown after firing on fine silver, and been told that it is very hard to find a red that won't do this. I haven't tried firing on 24k gold yet. Any suggestions? Thank you
