I have a Vcella and I love it - and the guys are great to call up and deal with - what size are you looking for? Its worth buying a good brand that stands behind its product. I am not crazy about Paragon.

unfortunately Vcella kilns are not available in the UK but thanks for the advice.  I have gone with a firebrick Paragon.  I got a response elsewhere from someone who has one, really gives it a hard time, and it puts up with everything she throws at it!  So I feel encouraged by that.  I think I got very unlucky with my CS2.

I suggest the XpressE-12A or 12T both by Paragon and fantastic. It is unfortunate about your SC kiln. I have used mine for years and year....touch wood. I have 8 kilns so it is not used for every single firing. Brick lined kilns like the ones I mentioned above are the best for enamelling. You SC is still under warranty so I would contact whomever you purchased it from or Paragon. Remember...you get what you pay for most of the time! All the best, Cindy

I enamel copper bowls.  My SC2 has failed after only 11 months - a huge crack in the ceramic fibre muffle, which allowed the element to burn out.  I am now considering buying a second kiln..and wonder whether to buy the smaller EFCO 180, which has a solid cast muffle, or the bigger PARAGON Xpress E12A which is made with fire brick.  The Paragon is bigger, but far more expensive.  I am just terrified to have another problem like I have experienced with the SC2 and want something more robust.  Any advice would be appreciated.  thanks
