WOW! this is all Paragon could report to you that it is the fault of the enamel powder??? Isn't this kiln made for enameling?? duh? Are you using leaded or unleaded and what brand? if you are using Thompson I would call Tom Ellis and get some feedback from him - Have you tried using glass cleaner for wood burning stoves and fireplace glass?
Hello folks. I have a PARAGON SC2, with a viewing window. I have been using it for 11 months now (very cross, it has broken down) to make enamel-on-copper bowls. The glass has slowly become badly fogged and now I cannot watch the enamel melt any more. The glass is like etched glass in the centre, "fog" colour, and is a bright yellow around the edges.
I have asked Paragon...they suggest it is the fault of the enamel powder, perhaps giving off gasses. Has anyone else had this problem? since these kilns are made for working with both glass and enamel, surely this should not have happened. Perhaps it is the CuO gasses? Any thoughts would be very much appreciated.
