which oil is the best for grisaille technique for enamel?

    hi everyone,

    i'd like to try out a grisaille technique on enamel but as i'm new to the technique have some questions and need some help from fellow members...

    when you mixing enamel with oil, which oil works best, lavendar oil or petrolium, or else?

    i grinded enamel very very finly and mixed with various medium but seems not working for me. I know there is a product from Thompson for this but i'd like to try the traditional ways. please give some tips on grisaille techniques, what should and should not?
