What a great idea! Who would cut the pieces and distribute them?

Im not sure yet. I cant saw alot for the moment, but find o model for a puzzle, cut out and enamelling and send the first piece, I can. But if anyone have a machine saw, she/he is the ideal. But first we must see how many are interested, and how many pieces the puzzle shod have. And also what to do when everything is ready. Except for put photos here in gallery.

    I have three thoughts:

One, it is difficult to get interlocking pieces to actually fit after enameling because a piece will expand more with more firings.  So a design that does not need "tight fit" would be best.

Two, everyone could cut out their own piece of metal if you post a line drawing of the pattern here.  Then each person could print out the pattern.  Again, it would be good if the design allows some variation--for instance, you could ask that the enameled piece be in the shape of the pattern and be from 4 to 8 cm wide.

Three, the final pieces could be mounted artistically on board, framed, photographed, and finally given to an appropriate institution, such as a children's hospital or the Louvre.

Vera, you have had exactly the same thought as I. We have some poor countries in Europe, that might be glad for a playful decoration.

I have also thougt about that expansion. I can make a pattern ackording to the piece, before and after. And i can send some patterns together with the piece (I wrote "peace" in my last post. Might have been something subconscious,

It needs a proper mounting, but we dont know the result yet!

I have a bench shear and a metalworking bench if you need someone to help with the cutting of the metal into certain sizes...are you thinking squares like a pieces of a quilt to put together when finished? Rectangles? Copper/Silver? OR, here's a thought...if you have an idea of what the dimensions should be, we can get the metal ourselves and just cut it to size on our own????

Hello everyone interested. About the shape, squares are the easiest. But I like the classic puzzle-shape, and everyone is familiar to it. Il try to find out if I can modify it to fit, even when enameled.

The easiest way, I think, to share the pattern, is to photocopy it, and put the photo here with exact size. Or what do you think?

a picture would be a great starting point even if you cant get it to actual size on the site. You could send us paper patterns actual size perhaps? Now we are three yipee Welcome Camille

I'm working on a pattern. The shape must be adjusted to fit when enamel is on. My thought were to make a pattern in actual size. (And to learn how to make a PDF) I think the pieces must be rather big 10-12 cms to look good. And decorated to attract children. Have I left something out?

I´d like to ask you, do you start with this project or not? If I understand, each participant should be make one piece of this puzzle? I can try it too.

I have an idea to make a puzzle piece for peace, and send to diferrent enamellers in differen european countries. The same idea can go to America and Australia too, and then we can exchange.

This fastened in my head, and kept me from sleeping until 07.00.

Tell me if you are interested! We need 16 pieces or 24 or 36 if we make four in a row! Or we can just do a long row. Please come on in!
