Hi Nova,  My guess is that the answer from the experts will be no.  But how about using the stainless plug as a model to fabricate one from copper?  We know that would work and copper is easy to work with...sounds like a cool project.     vera

    Hi Vera,

I think you are very correct. I was trying to not use copper because of the patina effect it can get around water.  And I thought of trying to use the plug to lock into the hole and attach the finished piece to the plug after carefully sealing the copper piece.

I am always looking for little things to enamel and since I now have learned about torch firing, have gotten a lot of little odd ball ideas.

    Thank you for the feedback.

Hi all, I am trying to find out if it is possible to enamel on stainless steel?  I cannot find anything in any of my books and got tired of trying to reword google searches to get any info.

I need to remove a tap from my kitchen sink and replace it with a flat plug (not in the sink, but on the rim).  I was toying with the idea of enameling the plug but would really like to just use the replacement plug that I will get from the hardware store.

Thanks for any thoughts and musings anyone might have.
