I'm a newbie so am still experimenting with the help of Linda Darty's book.

Problem is a transparent green on copper went black.  I think either/or the torch was too hot or I fired it too long.  My torch is propane/butane with oxygen.  Any advice?  Thanks.

    Hi Barbara

Don't know why the response did not show up but my suggestion is that you should lay down a clear flux first and fire -  then sift your green transparent over and fire - You may have also fired too long and it burned out -  as soon as you see the enamel granules begin to change , the melting goes quick - If your not sure pull the torch away and look-

    Trish,

You just helped me understand why I have had some enameled edges on metal sheaths turn black.  Thanks.
