Grinding or pulverizing glass: Machinery

    I may need to grind or mill glass frit. Anyhow, does anyone know who produces small-scale machinery for grinding or milling. For talking in say glass frit of 200 micron size (0.2mm) or larger, and grinding to say 100 microns.  The only thing I've identified is lab equipment as per Retsch Disc Mill DM-200. But I think that will cost a fortune and is possibly over engineered in the circumstances. Are there any suitable rolling mills?  What do people have?  Thanks. Rich

    How much glass grit are we talking about?

    To grind say 500mL batch, which is I think about 1.25 Kg.  What are the suppliers of glass frit using? I wonder. Suppliers of frit will, I think, be using fairly big machines. I imagine I'm wanting something on a smaller scale.

    1.25kg comes out to about 2 3/4 lbs. why not just grind what you need in a mortar and pestle?

    I made my own fret and glass pulverizer. I cut a 3 inch tub 6 inches long. Welded a 1/4 inch plate to the bottom. My handle is 1 inch pipe 14-16 inches long with a rubber grip at he top. I welded another 1/4 plate to the bottom of the rod so it would fit as tight as I could get it to fit inside the tube. Besurs to cover the opening with a rag because tiny bits of glass or fret will pop out of the top. It cost me a total of $10-15$. I can pulverise down to dust. For different sizes, you can screen.
