Sticking to trivets

My counter enamel sticks to the trivets and it drives me crazy!
Doming helps but I have flat pieces to do. I have filed my three point trivets, used scalex which won’t help for jewellry, I sprayed the trivets with boron nitrate which only lasts for one firing and I have used kiln shelf paper which leaves the back with a distinct pattern. Even when I file the tags there is always a risk it will happen again,
    Does anyone have another suggestion?
Oh, and I did order titanium trivets but they haven’t arrived.
    Thanks!

    Hi Karen,

You should have no issue with counter-enamel if the sides of your metal are clean .... and ONLY the side edges of the metal are coming in contact with the angled sides of the trivet.

    1. Your problem could be  the trivet size - test your metal before enameling to get the right fitting -

    2. You may also be putting too much counter enamel on the back - rub your finger around the edges of the metal to remove excess enamel before sitting down on the trivet.

Let me know how that works out,

    Trish
