Goodmorning all,
my name is Clémentine, I'm a almost young jeweller and enameler
I'm looking to someone who's still working whith the russian traditionnal plique a jour cloisonné technic.
And so whithout using acide...
Like for this piece I think that we don't use acid, no?
Thanks a lot,
happy day,
Clementine
Hi Clementine,
Thank you for your inquiry - There was a very famous talented Russian Plique-a-jour artist named Valerie Timofeev, who taught many classes and is work is in all the well known museums - Unfortunately he passed away -
I would contact our member Ötvös Nagy Ferenc - who is a Hungarian Plique artist and uses twisted wire in the Hungarian style and I am sure he can offer you many good tips - https://www.otvosnagy.com/
I will continue to look into this for you - thank you for your membership - Trish
Thanks a lot Trish,
the work from Mr Ferenc is very nice...
I use to know bout Mr Timofeev and I'm so sorry that he passed awayhe was a great master, the technic, the esthetic!!!
I hope we have some other master of this technic in Europe...
Let's see,
thanks a lot,
kind regards,
Clementine
It was an article in the 'Glass on metal' magazine written by Timofeev, where he described his technique in detail. If you can find this old magazine - it would help. Even 'Glass on metal' is not published any longer - I believe - they can send a copy of an old magazine.
I will look through the Glass on Metal library - I have the list and I will check this out - I love digging up great information. Thank you for all the replies you have made in General Discussions - I should make you an Administrator so that you can help me answer-
I found this magazine, it is volume 11, No3, June 1992
Good morning
Super!!!
I leave in Belgium, could you scan the article?
if it's just few pages?
if it's too long...I don't know
thanks,
kind regards,
happy day,
Clementine
