WG BALL Leadfree flux

  • November 10, 2020 8:19 AM EST

    Hi everybody,

We don't have success with the flux copper tint 7438.
We've tried 7438 with mesh 60, with mesh 120, with glue, without glue.
We've applied it with water and without water.
    We've cooked at 800°C during 2', 2'30, 4'.
    And at 820 °C during 2, 2'3, and 4.
And we cooked at 840 during 2 and 2'30.
Below, you can see 2 enamel pieces cooked at 800 and 820 during 2'30.
Enamel pieces cooked at 800 are perfect but very dark. They look like hard silver flux or flux pink tint but we don't reach the link copper pink we want as the flux copper tint should do.

Enamel pieces cooked at 840 and 860 are lighter without being perfect and are burned at the edge.

    Thank a lot

Have you tried 1425 for 2 mins. - I don't see that on your experiment. You went higher but not lower.

Yes we try lower and it's brown!

I am wondering if they sent you the wrong number - your samples look more like 7479- there certainly is a drastic color change from the sample -

    Hi,

They send the wright color they say.

Last week they send back an other sample of the same 7438.

    And it's the same.

    So I continue my researchs.

    Thank youy Trish

Well, I would have to see them prove to me by video that they come up with the same color as the sample- because its obvious its not the same -  unless your copper is tainted - possibly?

    Hi Trish,

    You are so kind.

I try to ask that to them but they don't reply!

    I try again.

My copper is CUC1, very clean.

    Thanks
