Sometimes when we think of a difficult and complicated has a very simple solution, I do not use any kind of oils but simple a few drops of glycerine. it dries in a day but you don't have to add more glycerine but a little water and do not gets lumpy. try this, I am using this method for overglazes. and it goes for months.

    Hi everyone.

I am looking for an oil for painting enamels that stays open for about five days.

I have used Thompsons oil but I absolutely dislike having to smoke the piece.

I used Balls paint oil and though I like it , it is dry in a few hours and re-wetting it makes it lumpy (to me)

Pine oil smell great but dries to quickly as well.

Any suggestions from the masters out there?

    Hans.
