Soldering bail before or after enameling?

If you solder before you must use IT solder. Regular solder melts at a lower temp than the enamel and will fall off. You can drill/punch a hole in the piece before enameling and wire wrap a bail to the piece. You can re-torch the piece to enamel a bail on to the piece, you can bezel or prong set the piece to a separate back plate. Many choices

I never solder after enameling, but I have seen it done. The gases from the torch will discolor the enamel. Usually I leave a hole or fuse on an edge with a loop.

Great! I have been soldering before enameling and it is working fine. Thanks!

Curious to know whether it is better to solder a bail onto a pendant prior to enameling or after enameling.

If before, it seems to me the balance of the piece will be off during wet enameling. If after, isn't there a danger of harming the enamel?

    Thanks so much in advance.
