Old Arco Kiln

Does anyone know about these older Arco Kilns?  I just came across one that looks to be in good shape and does turn on.  It however doesn't have a gauge to set exact temps.

It has a dial that sets at low med, and high.  There is a gauge to tell you what the temp is.  Interrior looks good and all elements are on.  Could I put a pyrometer on this?  Paid $275.  It's an Arco Model 226.  Can't find any info on internet.

Any help would be appreciated ASAP

Hi Sondra!  Post some pictures and I will show my hubby, who is an electrical engineer...if I ever have issues with my kiln, he's my go to guy! LOL!

    Hi Sondra,

Maybe more than you asked for, or not specifically what you are considering.. but I have been looking into installing a temperature controller on my kiln, and found quite a lot information on how to install the pyrometer in the kiln, and how to hook it up to a temperature controller. All of this in a low budget way.. I haven't done it yet, though. Click on the following links if you are interested in digging into the possibilities:

Good luck, and would love to hear which way you decide to go!
