I was looking for anyone who works a lot with opal enamels. I fired some samples and was shocked at how some burned out on the silver foil, but not on the flux. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Sondra,
Could be a myriad of things: from fine silver needing to be cleaned with a glass brush before enameling, firing too hot, wet enamels when fired, enamel layer too thin in specific area, air trapped under foil, etc... Can you take a picture and upload it?
Pam

No, it was just a test and I have since foiled over it. How are your tests coming?

If you look a bit further down on this list, there is a topic called Opalescents-treat them nice. It contains a lot of info that may be helpful. Jim

I looked down this page on the right and didn't see the topic. Looked under the notebooks 1 &2.
Can you be move specific on where to find it? Thanks Jim.
