buried gemstones

    Has anyone tried enameling over sapphires and/or diamonds?

    Not sapphires or diamonds, but I tried enameling (clear) over amethyst, rose quartz, and a couple other colorful "semi-precious" gemstones, and they all lost their vivid colors and turned mostly white, I am guessing due to the heat, not the enamel.
