From Kathy Johnson,
I've been seeing a new technique lately... where the enamel has an almost mottled look — very random and organic looking. Is it a base coat or someone suggested layers using different firing temp enamels (leaded & unleaded??)... any ideas?

When you apply a leaded enamel underneath an Unleaded enamel, you will have some very interesting pull through designs. You can use a leaded transparent as your first coat, fire, then sift an Unleaded opaque and you will see jewel like effects also. Have some fun and experiment. It would also be helpful for us to see a photo of what you are questioning, so we can inform you further.
