The good news is that limoges enamel is not a specific product. It's just enamel that's mixed with a liquid in small quantities so it can be painted on with a tiny paintbrush, like a painting. The liquid could be oil or water. I used oil for the liquid on my blue-footed boobies, and water for the liquid on the tree frog box. I think I used Bovano and Thompson leaded enamels (it's in my notes); I can send you a list of the enamels I used for the inside lid of the tree frog box if you want it. I rinsed each color in a disposable plastic spoon with distilled water, then most of the water was poured off so the enamel was the consistency of paint. I painted the wet enamel on with a tiny sable paintbrush, then dried it on top of the kiln and fired. less

PMC is great for giving you natural textures that are hard to duplicate with traditional metalsmithing. The cantaloupe skin just burned up in the kiln without making a big mess. I pieced it together with slip and did some mallet work to get the domed circle shape I needed, and it had to be fired a lot before it was ready to accept enamels.
