    When you say chalky do you mean that the surface is not smooth? I am using old Thompson 'crackle' enamels I have had for over 30 years in these pieces which I fire at around 800c. I never use oil to mix or

    I am hoping you might be able to tell me why my liquid (painting 325+ mesh) enamelsĀ  are turning out chalky after firing? Temp? Mixing oil? Have you ever had this experience?

    Jenny Gore What a nice thing to say Harry! it's only in the last several months that I have re-discovered liquid enamels, I have had a lot of fun playing with different combinations of my very old 'crackle' enamels.
