This piece is the latest in my bird brooch series - I have to admit, my photographer did an amazing job on the image! (Larry Sanders - www.juryslides.com) I've been enameling for about 22 years, took it as an elective course while a student at the Cleveland Institute of Art. I only took the class for 1 semester and did an 'independent study' for a 2nd semester. I got set up with a kiln and some equipment after I graduated in 1989 (my major was in drawing and my minor in printmaking) and am primarily self-taught in my metal work. I did have the basics of soldering shown to me at CIA, but lots of research and trial-and-error on my own. I don't have website as of yet, hope to get to that some time this year. I have a blog page: www.crafthaus.ning.com/profile/michaelromanik />
It has a listing of some of the galleries that I wholesale work to, nothing this elaborate though, my simpler 'production' pedants, earrings and some brooches.
Cheers!

Beautiful work Michael. How long have you been enameling? And if you would.....where do you sell your work? Do you have a web site?
