The reticulation (a Bill Helwig technique), occurs when gold foil overlaid with silver foil is fired for an extended period. I wrote a long article about it in the Feb 2003 issue of GoM magazine, Vol 22, No.1 if you have a copy.

How did you cut out the pagoda foil so precisely, and how did you get it reticulated?
