    Counter enamel will stop the enamel from cracking.

I was a bit worried about counter enameling and then setting - I always worry that if I bezel set the counter enamel will crack underneath being pushed down and then that defeats the object perhaps. I also notice that the enamel is always slightly thinner on the sides I guess I could diagrit it down so it more even. I was hoping you might say a thicker gauge of fine silver might help - I am trying 1.3mm at the moment. My full time job is as a maker of silver and gold pieces but it s drawing on enamels with graphite that I love but I want to make sure I sort the crack issue first. My last little cracks so tiny only could see under a 60x microscope and my macro lens picked up. Thanks again, Laura B  less

  Wow! I would anticipate problems fusing with such a thick sheet. The heat would melt the glass, but does it bond properly to the metal? Is there a reason you have the metal so thick?
