Turn in your Scrap Metal Clay for $$$$$$$

As we know, Metal Clay is not a cheap product and the price of Metals in general is soaring every day.  Lucky for me, I live in New York and Refineries are just a train ride away. I walk in with my box of silver and gold scrap, pieces of broken jewelry and walk away with a nice size check.

For those artists who do not have a refinery near you, Rio Grande is now taking Metal Clay scrap as well as all other metals by mail.

I use them as well. If you get the certified price and take it as a credit to your account, then it works out better than most of the other remelters. And it is quick turnaround but don't send them unfired clay unless you are willing to wait a couple of weeks for them to get around to firing it, they told me that on the phone once.

    Thanks Ann,

This is very helpful for the members.

Yes, thanks Ann, that is helpful.  Trish, who do you like to go to in NY?  I could see myself using both methods, depending on my circumstances.

The refiner I use is, ROSS PRECIOUS METALS CORP. (RPM)

                                 47 West 47th Street

                                 New York, NY 10036

                                 212-221-4500

                                 www.rosspreciousmetals.com

Not to be confused with "Ross Metal Refinery and and Findings" across the street - They are listed in the supplier list - They sell metals, findings, etc. and also refine. I don't know if you walk away with a check as I have not used them - A little to rush rush and chaotic when you go in there - I have always liked RPM - its private, quiet and he takes his time.

They are family operated - been on the 11th floor for years - and they do all the chemical testing right in front of you if there is a question on the validity of the metal. You also walk away with a check.
